Alaska, Pre-IDTA, January 2011 - August 2012
Pre-IDTA technical assistance is intended to build the capacity and readiness of sites through initial data collection and cross-systems product development for participation in a more intense IDTA.
The Alaska pre-IDTA involved a number of separate but related initiatives involving the Office of Children's Services, the Alaska Mental Health Board, the Anchorage Family Care Court and the National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA). Through these initiatives, the following were developed:

Alaska Addiction Professionals Association's 37th Annual School on Addictions - Hosted by the State Department of Health and Social Services, the Advisory Board on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and the Alaska Mental Health Board. Multiple presentations were developed in collaboration with NICWA:
- Tribal In-Home Services Practice Model - Developed in collaboration with NICWA to provide an IDTA Alaska Native Technical Assistance Project. The project involves 16 tribal partners and sought to identify barriers and gaps in services in the tribal social services division in relation to in-home services and availability of recovery services. The Tribal In-Home Services Practice Model is a System of Care model that was utilized with 5 of the 16 tribal partners to staff cases to enhance service delivery to individuals with substance use disorders.
